Fun, fun, fun

Tomorrow morning I'm going to be undergoing my second-in-my-life colonoscopy. My clean out the pipes regimen started at 4 p.m., and it has not been fun since. About the only thing I can think of worse at this point is actually having to do colonoscopies for a living. What kind of person actually chooses to be closely examining butts and all that goes with them for a living?

i got mine coming up in october. i dont mind the procedure itself, but the prep for it, and the not eating the day before--ugh!

i'd probably mind the procedure except the meds they give you make me feel comfortably stoned. and eating later feels so triumphant!

it's the sort of thing you never feel grateful for unless they find something awful----so i hope you remain ungrateful!

have fun.....

Well, it wasn't fun getting ready for it. But it's over. The only bad news is that there were several polyps and the doctor says I have to do this again in 3-5 years.

apparently as you grow older you almost inevitably have those polops so you have to go back more frequently. thats what happened with me, and i've read it's very common. at least it's only 3-5 years, not yearly, like mammograms---a much nastier procedure at the time, but without the awful prep. [i'm getting both in one 3 day period, which is probably a good idea so it limits the anticipation. and i'll have 4 full days of self pity to indulge in....
