Uh Oh

Readers, gentle and true. Bad news. I have got serious computer problems. Likely the motherboard. Which means new computer. Which means the better part of a week to get back up and running again. Everybody understands, I think, what a pain in the rear it is to have to reload a whole hard drive's worth of stuff. Last time this happened, not that long ago actually, it was a full ten days to recover. All by way of saying that Powderfinger may be sporadic for the next few days. My apologies. Not that you hang on every word, of course, but because I feel committed and I can not live up to the commitment. So hang in there with me. I will keep you advised.

yuck. sorry to hear about your technical difficulties. Not a subject that I handle very well, definitely not a tech-type.

sorry also for my tardy response about the musician on that song on my profile, "Never Too Late"? It's Michael Franti and Spearhead. I only recently discovered him while doing a lot of traveling April-June. You should check him out, if you get much into original singer-songwriter types (like I do lol). He's real talented. I've only downloaded 3 songs of his at this time, however his next album is due to be released next month...think I read that somewhere...anyway, if you wiki him et al, I think you'll be impressed a bit more with him due to what all he's involved in when he's not in the recording studio, etc. He made an independent doc. film a few years ago that I really want to see . It concerns Mideast genre observances, etc. but not only in Iraq &/or Afghanistan and our servicemen/women over there. Deals with the Palestinian-Israeli content too, I believe.

I uploaded the 3 songs that I have to a music player for you to listen to a bit more (if you're interested) of his stuff...I think this link will allow you to play the songs, if not & you wanna hear them, let me know & I'll play around with the site & try to figure it out.

I originally did this the day after you asked about that song, however, I've not felt so well since the last week of June--was brushing it all off as just extreme jet lag. It wasn't. lol So I've been sick the past 6-7 days now and it tripled after the antibiotic I was prescribed turned my skin into what appears to be a raging case of leprosy! lol

So that's my excuse for my being just way too beat up to hardly even check my plain email, much less check this site! I'm on the mend now though & will be 100% by the weekend, I'm sure, so sometime between now & then I'll get back with the other stuff I'd originally intended to write/comment back on about.

Hope your computer issue's on the mend as well! lol

Hey, girl! Don't even think of being "late" in responding to some query of mine. More likely than not, I've forgotten I asked. Or if I do remember, it will be only vaguely. :-(

Thanks for the link. I will give it a try after I finish posting this note to you. I'm a HUGE music madman. I love it all: classical to reggae, rock to blues. You name it, I probably like at least some of it, even country and hip hop. So I'm always on the prowl for new music and bands I've not heard before. I cannot imagine life without music. (As you might have discerned from my blog. If you "search Powderfinger" for "music," you will see that I've often put up clips of bands I've just recently discovered. I'm listening to a pretty good band called "Wilco" as we speak. I'll let you know what I think of Mr. Franti.
