Just to balance off yesterday's story about people going to jail for possession of tiny amounts of that "dangerous" drug marijuana, here comes a story that's truly amazing. It appears that a non-psychoactive component of the marijuana plant, a substance called Cannabidiol or CBD, acts to turn off the gene that causes cancer to spread. Got that, folks? We're talking about a possible breakthrough that will kill metastasizing cancer cells. Laboratory results show that the substance acts on This is HUGE. The two California scientists who have made the discovery are hoping for a quick approval to begin testing with human subjects.
